this tutorial is for ut-300r2u modems with old firmware.
for tutorial on new firmware visit here.
i am not using the modem which is using this particular firmware.i got this method from a friend of mine who is successfully using it ,and downloading data of 2.5 gb per session. i havent tested this method on my machine.
screenshots will be provided little later.
in this method you will have to download a configuration file
.every other setting is already made.you will have to just edit the username and password thing in the file to your dataone username and password.save the file.and now the file is ready to use.
the only worse thing in this method is,you will have to search for the words username and password in this config file and then change it to yours.
you can get the file here.
go to configuration settings in your modem page and give the path to downloaded file.
and rest should be in place and portforwarding should be done successfully.
i know this tutorial is somewhat abstract ,if u had tried to portforward before this then this must be easy, however first timers will find it difficult though.i am hoping to get those screenshots asap.
please do try and comment.

Hey i tried this process but it didnt work for me… so can you please suggest another method or is there any way that i can update my old firmware…??
as far as i know updating the old firmware is not possible.but you can try various other options.
try the above method once again. did u try dmz option?
No the dmz is not the problem.. In uTorrent it always shows a RED triangle.. The above method stops my internet access altogether.. I will HAVE to revert back to the default settings to continue downloading..
chirag, are u sure you changed your username and password??
Yes i did.. Just to make sure, shall i send you the screenshots of my firmware to your gmail? Maybe you can figure out if it is probably an even older version or something…
Hey guys i did wat u told…. mine is a UL750 plan and im getting only 30kbs max still after all the above mentioned steps ……..is there any other way to increase the speed or the only way is to change the plan to 500+…. ah…………….thankx…………..happy new year and happy pongal to all………..
password should be entered in encrypted form.
Get that from original .conf file
first of all thanks a lot for the steps.
go to configuration settings in your modem page and give the path to downloaded file
I did not understand this part so Im still facing the same prob of yellow exclamation mark.
All the steps above it i have done.
we are required to save that conf file and change the user name and password only that much right?
You will have to give screenshots if this post is to be useful. Configuration settings page does not just give an option to change path. Kindly tell us where and do post those screenshots.. Otherwise a useful post

hey buddy..
nice method, but ti didnt work for me.. but this method is fairly simpler than the method specified in this page : http://techtricks.co.in/tutorials/portforwarding/portforwarding-bsnl-dataone-ut300r2u-modem ,except specify as to make a backup of configuration setting , and updater the new stetting as this :
Management -> Settings ->Update(to update new setting)/ Backup (to backup old setting)
..i dont know if the page is still alive, but a friend showed me this page and i intend to go by it
