the other day i thought of developing this application just to start off with visual basic 2008.i have named it simple usb cleaner
what does it do?
it simply shows you all the files present in the usb drive ,and you decide which one should stay .that is if you find hidden autorun files ,or unknown .exe files or any other files which you didnt store ,you can safely delete it permanently ,and it will never show up again.
i am using antivirus already,would i still require your application?
it depends.
is your antivirus updated regularly?
one of my friend’s computer got winntlb.exe virus which could not be removed by mcafee completely,but i could do it with cmd commands,so i thought of elimating the use of commands and developed this simple application.
can regular antivirus detect every trojan and keylogger out there?
i have seen many keyloggers which go undetected by most of anti virus application.the point is you should know what is stored in your pendrive! this application does just that.you choose what you want to store.
is this a substitute for antivirus?
no definitely not.if you dont have regular internet access or a licensed antivirus application,you can just use this to prevent attacks.

you can observe that even though the malicious entities are detected they are not removed.the same is the case for mcafee antivirus.
